Open Positions at Proximo Ventures

**Proximo Ventures | Part-time, ~8 hours/week | In-person, campus-based**
Many of the world's most important early-stage science companies are being built inside three UK universities right now and almost none of the investors backing them ever set foot on campus. Proximo Ventures does things differently: we place investment teams directly inside Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial, so we meet founders in the lab, months before they ever think about fundraising, to maximise their chances of success.
Student Investors are the people on the ground who make that possible. You're part of a highly selective campus team led by your Campus Lead, finding the founders, doing the DD, and helping decide who Proximo backs. You get real deal exposure and start building an investment track record while you're still a student.
You're a working member of Proximo's investment team at your university, and this is your major. Day to day, that means finding promising founders and companies on campus, helping assess them, and keeping your part of the pipeline moving. At around 8 hours a week, it's a hands-on role with a real responsibility to the founders. Your sourcing and analysis feed decisions about where our angel’s capital goes.
Your expertise should fall under one of two categories, physical science or life science as we have three verticals which span these two areas of expertise. At Proximo, we focus our investments in Health Tech & Biotech, Climate Tech & Sustainability, and Industry Tech with AI and ML. Each of these three verticals have their own designated Vertical Lead who manage a team spread across the three institutions. Because of this, you will work closely with your Campus and Vertical Leads.
In parallel to sourcing and the investment process, each Student Investor will take ownership of an operational aspect of Proximo, which will be your minor which will help you develop translatable skills beyond the investment world. These operational task forces include the following:
